A beautiful showroom or an attractive social media page does not, on its own, confirm professional standing. Before paying a deposit or leaving an item for repair, check whether the business is listed in the Council’s member directory and whether its contact details match.
Ask clear questions
A professional jeweller should explain the metal, gemstone, workmanship, price and expected delivery date in plain language. Ask for written details when ordering a custom piece, including the design, materials, measurements and agreed price.
Keep your records
Retain invoices, valuation documents, warranties and repair notes. These records help with insurance, future maintenance and the fair resolution of a complaint if something goes wrong.
